Highly sought after and scarcely seen chest of school drawers/sideboard designed by James Leonard in the early 1950's for Esavian (ESA) The Educational Supply Association.
In a lovely medium shade beech, the drawers have satifisfying curved oblong shaped handles, tapered legs and a warm glow to the finish.
The drawers have been fully restored, due to the nature of their past life they understandably have some signs of wear, mostly inside and down the sides of the drawers (were clearly used as drawers in an art department)! We think this adds to their lovely character and tells their history as a functional piece of furniture. Please see pictures of some of the examples of inside and sides of drawers.
They have been fully stripped, sanded and have had various layers of a hard wax oil applied.
