Gorgeous vintage E Gomme G Plan dressing table from the Brandon range. This oak dressing table from the 1950s/1960s is in beautiful condition with only a few very minor age related marks. The top two drawers open up to the side as demonstrated, forming a useful and interesting feature. The mirror can be tilted up and down using a mechanism at the back. E. Gomme Ltd, was founded by Ebenezer Gomme in 1898 in High Wycombe. It began producing the 'G-Plan' range in 1953 after demand grew for affordable, contemporary furniture which could be bought piece by piece. This dressing table forms part of this original 'Brandon' range. The G-Plan name was coined by Doris Gundry of the J Walter Thompson advertising agency – from the Gomme Plan, a plan for living. The range became hugely successful. At one point there was an 18-month delivery wait and other manufacturers copied styles. Consequently, this range is highly sought after. Delivery is available in the North East for a reasonable fee. Collection can also be arranged from South Shields, Tyne and Wear. We also deliver nationwide via a courier service.
